Paige Grimsled
Group Leader
Throughout the project, I learned about various aspects of communication. Working online together as a team was a test of good communication on each members' behalf and allowed me to work on my communication skills as we worked on the project. I also learned a lot about how communicating through storytelling involves aspects of communication but differs from delivering an informative or persuasive speech. This project also helped me better understand different aspects of communication by not only requiring communication between team members, but also by looking at communication through this new light of storytelling and having to focus more on the audience. This project has helped me develop skills that I can take outside of the classroom and use in everyday life. It has allowed me to develop better communication skills that I can use when working, in other classrooms, and even with my friends. I now have a better understanding of how to communicate with different audiences and work better together as a team.
Paige was responsible for arranging group meetings and keeping the group on track to meet the deadline for the project. She checked in with group members to ensure that work was being completed and assisted each member by answering questions, contacting the instructor, and helping complete tasks. Paige was also responsible for creating the general information page about the project and detailing what each member did for the project.

I learned that communication is a lot harder than it seems! We do a lot of communication instinctually, but when it’s put into focus, we can learn a lot about our own self-esteem, doubts, and self-confidence. This project helped me focus on simplification – how sometimes, we should simplify our thoughts and direct our attention outside of ourselves and to an audience. I can take what I’ve learned and apply it to my future speeches and presentations in the scientific world.
Sav was responsible for conducting research into the following topics: the best practices for teaching someone with Down Syndrome, the best practices for communicating with someone with Down Syndrome, and the history of storytelling. Sav was also responsible for creating a Works Cited page and including outside links on the Works Cited page.

By studying storytelling, I have gained insight into different cultures, their values, beliefs, and ways of expressing ideas. Understanding its evolution helped improve my own communication skills, including the ability to convey ideas effectively, capture attention, and create a compelling narrative. Studying the history of storytelling helps preserve and understand the past, ensuring that important cultural and historical knowledge is not lost. Learning about the history of storytelling aided me in deepening my enjoyment and appreciation of different forms of storytelling.

Through this storytelling project, I learned the profound impact of narrative elements in communication. I discovered that stories have the power to captivate, engage, and persuade an audience in ways that straightforward facts and information often cannot. This project not only improved my individual storytelling skills but also highlighted the importance of teamwork in communication. Collaborating with my classmates allowed us to pool our creative ideas, refine our narratives, and receive constructive feedback. This collaborative process helped me better understand the significance of effective teamwork in a project. I also gained insights into the art of using imagery and emotions to convey messages effectively. The experience has broadened my appreciation for the nuances of storytelling in communication and the value of working together to create a more compelling narrative. I can take what I've learned from this project and apply it outside of this class by incorporating storytelling and teamwork techniques into various aspects of my personal and professional life, whether it's crafting persuasive presentations, writing compelling essays, or even collaborating effectively in work and social settings. Storytelling and teamwork have become powerful tools for me to connect with people, convey ideas, and work cohesively with others to achieve common goals.
Abdulelah was responsible for designing the overall layout of the group’s website. This included placing the research into the correct section and designing the tabs and different sections of the website. Abdulelah was also responsible for including appropriate visual aids and graphics to the layout of the website along with designing the visual appearance of the website.
